brp architects win design award
brp architects are pleased to announce their primary care building at Lytham St. Annes, Lancashire: Lytham Primary Care Centre has been awarded the RIBA Leicestershire & Rutland Society of Architects Design Award for 2010 at the recent annual dinner awards ceremony.
Initial submissions of projects from throughout the country were made by architects based in the two counties, then a short-listing for the final award. Another brp architects designed primary care scheme also made the final three on the shortlist: The Culm Valley Integrated Centre for Health went on to receive a Highly Commended. This scheme was opened by HRH The Prince of Wales, and had been previously recognised in the RIBA East Midlands Awards last year.
Rosebery Street School Conversion
brp are delighted to announce they have been selected through competition to work with Charnwood Medical Group on their project to convert the grade II listed former Rosebery School in Loughborough to provide a new state of the art Primary Care Centre, Pharmacy, Residential and community uses.
Great Yarmouth Opens
The alterations and extensions to the Cobholm and Lichfield Health and Resource Centre to form a new Primary Care Facility we officially opened on 12th January.
The design of the significant extension expands on the language of the existing resource centre to create a cohesive development. The development includes significant reconfiguration and enhancement to external works and parking provision.
Lytham makes finalist list
Lytham Primary Care Centre has reached the final of the "Property of the year" award at the health investor awards 2010. The winning scheme will be announced at the awards ceremony in May 2010.
Culm Valley Integrated Centre For Health Commended
brp architects are delighted to receive a commendation in this years RIBA Design Awards for the Culm Valley Integrated Centre for Health. The award was presented by Ruth Reid, President of the Royal Institute of British Architects at a reception in October
This landmark building commissioned by Haven Health Properties, stands as an exemplar to holistic integrated healthcare and alternative therapy, as promoted by both the practice and Prince Charles' Foundation for Integrated Health.
The elevated gateway site into the village commanded a positive design solution, the final building displays a strong form softened by the considered use of materials derived from the local palette. For more on the

OJEU success...
brp architects are extremely pleased to announce that they have been selected by Grand Union Housing Group to help develop a new flagship Extra Care Facility at Biggleswade, Bedfordshire.
The Group comprising Aragon Housing Association, MacIntyre
Housing Association
and South Northants Homes invited applicants
for the appointment via the OJEU notice procedure from all over
Europe, which resulted in over one hundred 
responses.

New Extra Care proposals...
After the success of the Extra Care Facility provided for Axiom Housing Association as part of a larger mixed residential development for Accent Nene Ltd. brp architects have been appointed by Larkfleet Homes in association with Larkpoint to develop a new scheme for Axiom at Eye near Peterborough.
The proposals, now in for Planning approval, comprise a new 52 unit Extra Care Facility supported by a further 12 Close Care Bungalows. The main building will offer high quality residential accommodation as well as a wide range of amenity and communal spaces.
It is intended that the Extra Care
accommodation acts as a
community hub, offering facilities,
not only to residents of the main
building but also to the bungalows
and to the wider local population.
