On Thursday the 7th of July Martin Scott will be moving on from brp architects to pursue a new life on the South Devon Coast now that all three children have finished their secondary education and flown the nest. This has not been a rushed decision, and Martin has kept us fully informed of his developing plans for the past five years.
Martin joined us in the summer of 2004 and became Associate in 2008. During his time with us he has successfully delivered a number of milestone projects for brp, has taken responsibility for a number of management roles and with his seniority and experience has also been able to offer guidance to younger developing members of the team. Martin will be much missed, but we wish him every success and future happiness.
To coincide with Martin’s departure and the continuing evolution of the practice we are delighted to announce the appointment and progression of two existing members of the brp team into senior positions as of the 1st of July.
James Garner has been promoted to the position of Associate. James joined brp architects in August 2011 and brings fresh ideas and enthusiasm to the management team. With a strong technical background, he already fulfils a key role in delivering detailed design packages for a wide range of projects, as well as providing additional technical support / advice to others in the team. James has extensive experience in the residential sector, ranging from small-scale bespoke schemes through to larger mixed-use developments, retirement living schemes and master-planning. In recent years he has assumed the lead role on a number of high-profile projects for brp, managing both the initial design development as well as the construction phase.
Lee Hankins is one of the longest serving members of the team, having been with brp for 17 years, and is promoted to BIM Manager, alongside his on-going role as Project Architect. He is highly experienced in all aspects of the design and delivery of healthcare premises, both small and large, having been heavily involved in a number of award winning projects. Having a strong passion for all IT-related matters Lee has, for a number of years, been responsible for the design and management of the IT infrastructure, CAD systems and standards that enable brp to be at the forefront of BIM implementation for practices of a similar size undertaking small to medium sized projects. In addition, Lee is heavily involved with the development of the industry-leading ArchiCad software, assisting with BETA testing programmes and providing valuable feedback, and has strong links with their head office in Hungary.
Moving forward the brp team enjoy the on-going support form a long-serving and dedicated team of professionals and administrative staff, who look forward to continuing to work with our existing clients and forging new relationships.
