The award winning scheme at Lytham was the culmination of a long association between brp architects and North Lancashire Primary Care Trust (formerly Lytham Primary Care Trust), with the project being developed by MedicX Ltd, a primary care developer with offices and projects throughout the UK.

The scheme origins were based around a PCT strategy for the redevelopment of the prominent Victorian Lytham Hospital site which was to be cleared leaving a single clinic retained to make space for the new building, and consists of two GP surgeries, diagnostics and x-ray, treatment and teaching facilities, plus a dramatic atrium space with pharmacy and cafe. Built over three floors at 4500sq.m the project also included infrastructure for retained hospital building, extensive external works for the whole site and a health port for mobile scanners etc.
