As part of a new series of articles, we carried out a ‘quick-fire’ question and answer session with all members of staff at brp architects with the aim of publishing the answers from 1 member of staff each month. It’s a bit of fun, and we hope you enjoy reading and getting to know us a little better.

What is your favourite building?
“Flat Iron Building – New York”

What would you be doing, if you weren’t doing your current role?
“Something in the sports scene – sports massage or physiology or something”

Where would you live, if you could go anywhere in the world?
“New York”

What is the project you have been most proud of?
“Derby Road residential development scheme in Loughborough”

What advice would you give your 18 year old self?
“Work harder (I was lazy)”

What is your guilty pleasure?
“Thorntons fudge”

What would be your first purchase if you won the lottery?
“New car – something fast!”

What is the one thing people wouldn’t guess about you / secret skill?
“I can play the guitar”

What did you want to be when you “grew up”? Did you do it?

What is your favourite aspect of your job?
“The office banter – we’re sometimes a rowdy bunch!”

What/ who inspires you?
“My Dad has always set the best example I could follow – he’s a good lad.”

What project are you working on right now?
“Inner city office development, doctors surgery extension, new medical centre, multiple housing schemes”

What is your favourite film?
“Depends what day of the week it is! Gladiator / Whiplash / Back to the Future / Inception / Die Hard / The Matrix / Anything with superheroes”

Where do you see the industry in 10 years?
“Pushing towards zero carbon on majority of schemes (but probably still falling short)”

If you could invite 3 people to dinner, past or present, who would you invite?
“Frank Sinatra, Thierry Henry, Hugh Jackman”
